Oel-Pool will become volenergy AG. But what will this mean?
Our employees, brands, tank farms, tank trucks and other infrastructure will remain the same, and we will carry on supporting our customers and partners just like we always have.
But the change also presents a tremendous opportunity: We can continue supplying our customers and Switzerland with fossil-fuel products while focusing more and more on alternative, liquid products.
We already sell biofuels and HVO that save over 100,000 tonnes of CO2 per year – and we are planning to do even more. These efforts will revolve around liquid energy. This means that, along with biofuels and HVO, our main focus will be on green methanol. We have various projects underway in this area and aim to offer our customers and partners even better solutions for reducing CO2 emissions – all alongside our existing business operations. Our goal is to double the share of environmentally friendly energy within the next 10 years.
At the same time, volenergy AG itself is also becoming more sustainable: Some of our tank trucks are already running on carbon-free biofuel, and more will follow suit in the future. In addition, we are installing solar roofs at various locations to generate electricity. We are also optimising the lighting at our filling stations. These are just a few examples of how we are making our operations more sustainable.
We still have a lot of work ahead of us – but together we will make a difference.
