Space-saving installation without any need for a power connection
With a height of just 8 cm, the OilFox device fits easily in basement rooms with low ceilings and in manhole pits. It is IP67-rated and, thanks to its robust housing, is suitable for indoor and outdoor tanks. You can simply screw the OilFox device into the opening of your tank without the need for any expensive conversion. And best of all: It doesn't require a power connection because it runs for 10 years on the battery that comes with it.
Ultrasonic level measurement
The OilFox device measures the level of your tank ultrasonically (accurate to 1 cm) and transmits the information to the OilFox app. Choose between Wi-Fi or mobile data transmission. In addition to the current level, the app also shows you your previous consumption, as well as how long it expects your heating oil or diesel supply to last. It goes without saying that your data is encrypted and transmitted securely.
Always informed with the OilFox app
OilFox offers two ways of transmitting data:
- Wi-Fi connection (wireless)
- NB-IoT technology (mobile/mobile radio)
The OilFox device automatically connects to whichever option has better connectivity, so you don't have to worry about your WiFi range. However, you can also change the connection method yourself at any time in the app.
With OilFox, you can keep track of your tank level, receive timely notifications when the fill level is low, stay informed via the OilFox app and order fuel replenishments with just one tap in the app.
Which tanks can the OilFox be installed on?
- On diesel and heating oil tanks
- On used oil and water tanks
- On rectangular, oval or cylindrically shaped tanks
- Tank arrays: An exact level measurement is also provided here by querying and calculating the total volume as well as the dimensions of the individual tanks.
What other requirements does the tank still have to meet?
- For immediate installation: free opening with a diameter of 1.25 inches, 1.5 inches or 2 inches
- The opening must be at least 8 cm from the edge and at least 8 cm from the top of the tank (OilFox must be installed perpendicular to the tank).
- If an analogue level meter is present, it can be replaced.
- If the opening diameter does not match, an adapter can be purchased from a specialist dealer.
What must I be aware of when using an OilFox?
- Although OilFox is IP67-rated, it is not fully waterproof, which means a connection and therefore fault-free operation cannot be guaranteed if conditions are permanently damp/waterlogged.
- The pre-programmed measuring frequency of the OilFox for level checking is daily. The current level can be queried manually at any time directly on the device.
- The default setting in the app allows you to specify when you only want to be notified and when a push notification warning is to be sent.
Where can I get the OilFox app and how does it work?
- It is available in the usual stores.
- It works on Android phones with software version 4.3 or higher and iPhones from 8.0.
- Levels can be viewed in the app on a mobile phone or tablet.
- Both OilFox and the app are being continuously developed.
- The measurement data can be emailed from the app in CSV format.
- The corresponding statistics contain the level in litres and the measured value in centimetres assigned to the date of measurement.
What happens to my data?
The Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also apply in full to the use of OilFox and the associated app.
To protect the personal data of customers, OilFox encrypts and anonymises any data that is absolutely necessary to the greatest extent possible and only transmits and stores it using the latest security technologies.
